T&R Theakston is marking the retirements of two long-serving team members with a combined service totalling more than half a century.

The company has a proud record of long-term employees, and the latest to be included in that roll call are Alison Livesey and Phil Williamson.
Having joined the brewery around the time of its acquisition by Matthew Brown PLC, production administrator Alison leaves Theakston’s after 38 years. During this time, her role has expanded to cover many areas of the business, including marketing, operations, and administration.
She has also witnessed the resurgence of the brewery following its buyback by current chairman Simon Theakston and his brothers, returning it to independent family control in 2003.
Also retiring this year is sales development manager for Cumbria, the North East, and South Scotland, Phil. He has been with T&R Theakstons for a total of 14 years, but has been working with the Theakston family and Theakston brands for 35 years, having started his career at Matthew Brown in the early 1990s.
“It has been a pleasure to have both Alison and Phil as part of the Theakston team for so many years,” said Simon Theakston. “At the brewery, our people are at the heart of everything we do.
“As a family business in every sense, having such loyal and long-serving employees is a testament to the passion and dedication that thrives here in Masham. We wish them both a long and happy retirement, and thank them for their outstanding service.”
