Beamish, the iconic stout from Cork, in Ireland, which has been quietly building a loyal fanbase since 1792, is now being imported into the UK and distributed by Cave Direct.

What sets Beamish apart is its balance, smooth roastiness, gentle bitterness, and dry, moreish finish, says the importer. It’s the stout of choice for many in Ireland.

“Growing up, there was always an air of mystery around Beamish,” said Rob Young, national account manager at Cave Direct. “You could only find it in Cork, and you wouldn’t really see it anywhere else.

“Then, in 2022, I started to notice it around Belfast, and it was then I knew we had to have it on Cave Direct’s list. It
represents everything people look for in a pint. It has depth, balance, and tradition. It really is the stout drinker’s stout.”

He added: “This partnership has been three years in the making, and now, bringing it to Great Britain is more than just
adding another beer to our range, it’s about giving drinkers access to a classic that deserves to be poured with pride.

“We know the demand is there, so we’re taking a careful, phased approach to make sure Beamish gets the welcome it deserves.”

Cave Direct are kicking things off with a slow rollout. A variety of venues, who also happen to be known for their dedication to quality stout service, will be part of the first stage of the rollout, with more venues to follow in 2026.

There will be a launch party at The Cow, in Westbourne Park in London, on Thursday, 2nd October. Beamish will then be poured in venues nationwide the same week.
