Our Brewery, from Randalstown, Northern Ireland, has won 12 medals at the World Beer Awards, including two ‘World’s Best’ titles.

The awards tally included seven golds for ‘Best in Ireland’ plus one silver and four bronze medals in the national category.

Low Land, a rich and tart Flanders-style oud bruin, and Seasur, a bright and lightly acidic mixed fermentation saison, were named best in Ireland, and best in the world.

Brewery co-founder Johnny Mitchell said that the awards success was “beyond anything we imagined. We set out to brew world-class beer as a genuine passion project.

“To have our work recognised on the world stage is both humbling and exhilarating. These awards belong to our whole team and the community who have supported us from day one.

“We operate in one of the most challenging licensing environments in Northern Ireland. Hopefully, this achievement not only highlights the quality of beer being brewed here but also sparks conversations about much-needed licensing reform.”

The wins at the World Beer Awards follows on from Our Brewery’s recent success at the Great Taste Awards, where it picked up 11 awards, including three prestigious ‘Three Star’ prizes. Two of these beers are now in the running for a Golden Fork Award.
