The Looe Food and Drink Festival will be returning in Cornwall on 14th September, with Sharp’s Brewery among its prominent supporters.

Sharp’s Ed Hughes hosts a chef demonstration
The one-day festival is centred around the chef demonstration stage curated by the town’s acclaimed restauranteur and TV personality Ben Palmer, and set on East Looe’s Buller Quay.
Around the harbourside there will be an array of food and drink stalls, from South West-based farmers, producers, and makers, accompanied by the best of Cornish beers and cider from Sharp’s.
Sharp’s popular beer sommelier Ed Hughes — himself a familiar face on TV these days — is among the hosts. And he will be bring back the Grape vs Grain feasting contest.
This special dinner, at The Sardine Factory, will see bespoke beer pairings being tested against traditional wine pairings, all accompanying a six-course tasting dinner, masterminded by Ben. Grape vs Grain events always sell out quickly, so it’s recommended those interested contact The Sardine Factory as soon as possible to book.

Ben said: “This is my home town, and like everyone who is either from here, or who lives here, I know what an incredible location Looe is.
“Last year’s rejuvenation of the Looe Food and Drink Festival was such an invigorating success and it’s such a great way to bring the whole town alive, showcasing all the brilliant bars, cafés, restaurants, and boutiques that are peppered right across both of our harbour sides.”
Ed added: “Last year’s Looe Food and Drink Festival was such phenomenal fun, and it’s brilliant for us all to be coming to the Cornish ‘East End’ and to be working with such talented and passionate chefs to showcase the very best of local ingredients, cooking combinations, and drinks pairings.
“We’re so happy to be supporting Ben and the voluntary team behind Looe Food and Drink Festival, and to be collectively shining a light on this beguiling, characterful East Cornwall port, and its exceptional foodie scene.”
