Queer Brewing Co has collaborated with TV personality Joe Lycett to celebrate the fourth year of Queens Heath Pride, an event founded by Joe, with local pub The Juke.

Queens Heath Pride began in 2021 when Joe renamed Kings Heath, in Birmingham, Queens Heath, in response to local homophobic protest. Joe set out to host the world’s smallest pride march, the documentation of which then became part of his acclaimed 2022 standup show More, More, More! How Do You Lycett? How Do You Lycett?
Since 2022, Queer Brewing have released a collaboration with Queens Heath Pride and The Juke, but this year’s release is the first official collaboration with Joe, whose painting features on the beer’s artwork.
Joe said: “I was delighted to help with the artwork for this delicious juicy pale in support of Not A Phase and Queens Heath Pride from my second favourite brewery — the first being whoever brews Skol.”
As with all of Queer Brewing’s beers, a donation from the sales of Rainbow Juice will be made to charity. Queer Brewing donate 10p from every pint and can sold to a quarterly-rotating charity, and they’re currently raising funds for Not A Phase, a charity dedicated to creating a thriving and supportive space for the trans+ community. Fifty pence from each can sold via Queer Brewing’s webshop will be donated to Queens Heath Pride.

“We’ve loved working with Queens Heath Pride for the last four years, and were thrilled when we were first approached to work together,” said Lily Waite-Marsden, founder of Queer Brewing.
“When Joe suggested we use one of his gorgeous paintings for the label, we immediately agreed. I’ve loved his work for years, and have been hoping to use one of his paintings for a collab for a long time.”
She added: “We’re delighted to have Joe officially on board for this year’s beer, as the whole team are big fans of his varied work and the amazing grassroots community spirit he’s fostered in creating Queens Heath Pride.
“The dedication to creating a space for the LGBTQ+ community to celebrate, demonstrate, and protest, as well as the ethos of expression and representation it exemplifies, mirror and resonate strongly the values Queer Brewing was founded on and the purpose of what we do.”
Rainbow Juice is a 4.7% ABV pale ale hopped with Luminosa, a relatively new variety. Expect aromas of peach lemonade, mango, and citrus, with fizzy peach sweets and papaya on the palate, and a soft and juicy body.
