Verdant has collaborated with Wylam on two beers marking the latter’s 25th anniversary — an IPA and a double IPA.

Comfort Settings (8% ABV) is a re-brew of a DIPA created in 2021. A wheat-heavy New England-style base is layered with Ekuanot, Citra, Azacca, El Dorado, and Sabro hops. “Think juicy citrus, tropical fruit, and a soft, pillowy mouthfeel, dialed in like an old-school hi-fi setup,” say the brewers.
Alongside this is something new, Geometry of Sound, a vibrant 6.5% ABV IPA inspired by the visualisation of sound (also known as cymatics). “We took the audio theme from Comfort Settings and spun it in a new direction,” say the brewers. “Simply take a sip, close your eyes, listen to the sound, and imagine Chladni patterns forming from deep vibrations!”
On the hot side, El Dorado and Sabro lay down a fruity base, and the dry hop brings in some favorite New Zealand varieties to elevate it. “Aromatic, expressive, and brewed with music in mind.”
The beers will be pouring at this weekend Wylam Brewery 25th anniversary festival. Find out more here.
