Devon-based Sandford Orchards has unveiled its first ever multimedia ad campaign, incorporating outdoor, digital, and in-store activity across the country.

It represents a significant investment as part of their commitment to grow the brand. The campaign, featuring their bestselling and much-loved Devon Red, will encourage consumers to ‘Choose The Right Cider Life’.

“We felt it was time to invest in a large-scale campaign that will introduce even more consumers to the joys of our cider,” said Barny Butterfield, chief cidermaker at Sandford Orchards.

“We know that when people come across our ciders in pubs, bars, restaurants, shops, or at events, they love them. But there are still people who have yet to have that pleasure! Our advertising campaign will introduce them to The Right Cider Life and inspire them to seek out some of our authentic cider.”

Sandford Orchards’ outdoor campaign will appear on billboards and bus sides across the South West during the summer, and in-store activity will be taking place in Morrisons in London and Birmingham.

The campaign, which will also be digitally supported, includes a competition that will feature on pack and point of sale, giving people the opportunity to win more than 50 prizes. These include a bundle of goodies from RED Equipment, Kamado Joe, Nomad and, of course, lots of Devon Red.

Barny said: “Our strapline is Cider Done Right, and that’s where the idea for this campaign started. But more than that, the message here is all about making positive choices. It’s about getting out there and enjoying the good things in life, such as soaking up the great outdoors, maybe a walk on the beach, or sharing a cider with friends in the sunshine.”

He added: ”Our cider is crafted in Devon from locally-grown apples from sustainably-managed orchards that act as carbon sinks, promote soil health, and support biodiversity.

“We press true cider apples, ferment their fresh, not concentrated, juice, allow that juice to mature, and then — only when we’re happy that it’s just right — we blend and package that cider and proudly put our name to it. When consumers taste it they know that they have found the right cider life.”
