Joseph Holt ended 2024 with two regional packaged beer awards from the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates (SIBA), for Ducie Bridge lager and Sixex ale.
Ducie Bridge picked up a gold in its class. Sixex clinched silver, but in a category where no golds were awarded.
Ducie Bridge was first produced in 2024 as part of Joseph Holt’s 175th anniversary celebrations. A balanced, clean pilsner, brewed with heritage malt, its name pays tribute to where Joseph Holt established its first brewery.
Sixex, which scored in the bottle and can British ale up to 6.4% category, is a dark, rich, malty ale which has been brewed to the same recipe for more than 100 years.
“There are so many fantastic independent brewers producing quality products, so we never take these medals for granted,” said Holt’s second brewer, Lloyd Rees. “It’s why we are so thrilled by this fantastic achievement for Joseph Holt.
“We have a committed and skilled team of brewers, and will continue to work hard to produce quality beers, be it new products or the old favourites.”
