Innis & Gunn ‘launched’ a ‘Spanish lager’, just for the weekend, continuing founder Dougal Sharp’s campaign to get us to drink British.
The brewer’s Lager Beer was re-labelled Iññez & Gunn Cerveza for the exercise, pouring at brewery taprooms in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Drinkers were invited to experience a “taste of Spain” brewed right at home.
The cheeky release followed a survey commissioned by Innis & Gunn which revealed that 38% of Brits think Spain produces the best beer.
“It’s a bit of fun, but hopefully it also reminds drinkers that Scotland’s own premium lager rivals anything from across the continent,” said Dougal.
Innis & Gunn’s flagship lager recently won gold at the World Beer Awards.
