Rooster’s Brewing Co is to host its first invitational beer festival at its Harrogate base on 1st July as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.

Rooster's cheers

Some of the UK’s most respected and talked about breweries, coupled with a handful travelling from further afield, will be descending upon Harrogate, to create a unique, combined line-up of more than 100 beers.

Rooster’s has started to release details of who will be pouring at Suds With Buds via their social media feeds, with Siren, Crooked Stave, and Full Circle having been announced so far.

The festival will also play host to a variety of street food traders. And the taproom’s beer garden will offer festival-goers a fantastic line-up of live musical talent.

The event will run from 2pm to 8pm and will span the brewery and yard, taproom, beer garden and the Sample Room. It’ll be a ticket-only event, with the taproom being closed to non-festival goers on the day. Early Bird tickets will be available from 1st March at a discounted price of £20 via roosters.co.uk and will be available until that allocation sells out. Pricing will then increase to £22.50 as part of a ‘Not So Early Bird’ offer. Once that allocation has sold through, the remaining tickets will be available at full price (£25). Tickets will include an exclusive souvenir Suds With Buds glass, as well as an event programme.

The event will be jointly staffed by wellness officers from The Coven, a group that exists to advocate for women’s safety at events, having launched their initiative at the Leeds International Beer Festival in September last year. They will provide first aid and mental health care on the day, as well as assisting in safeguarding the festival.

“Suds With Buds is an event we’ve been wanting to put on for several years, but one thing or another has stopped initial ideas from becoming reality… until now!” said Rooster’s commercial director, Tom Fozard.

“On the back of Rooster’s celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2023, we’re biting the bullet and making it happen. We’ve invited some of our closest brewing pals, who also happen to be very good at what they do, to join us in Harrogate to pour their beers, share their passion, and the stories of who they are and what they brew. Suds With Buds promises to be a hugely unique event and one that’ll be the first of its kind to take place in Harrogate.”

To further commemorate its milestone year, Rooster’s will be releasing a number of limited edition collaboration beers, brewed with friends from other breweries in the UK, Sweden and the USA.

The first collaboration is with Elusive Brewing, which sees the two breweries’ flagship IPAs — Baby-Faced Assassin (Rooster’s) and Oregon Trail (Elusive) — combine to create Assassin’s Trail. The 5.9% ABV West Coast IPA will be released at the end of March.
