East London’s Neckstamper Brewing have taken home the overall champion’ award at the Indie Beer Awards South East.

Indie Beer Awards London

The brewery won with their flagship New England-style hazy IPA, Mizzle, a beer that has won the independent brewery multiple awards over the years.

It now goes forward, alongside the other category winners, to the national finals of the Indie Beer Awards at BeerX in Liverpool next month.

“We’re absolutely over the moon to win this award with Mizzle — our core New England IPA and a beer we’re incredibly proud of,” said Neckstamper founder Adam Jefferies.

“Huge congratulations to Jo for brewing the beer, and to the whole team behind it. Soft, juicy, and hop-forward, we’ve been evolving Mizzle for years, continuing to push hop flavour and intensity. Seeing it recognised at this level means a lot to us.”

The Indie Beer Awards were judged and presented at Big Penny Social in Walthamstow, London, ahead of the Big Penny Beer Fest, which continues today and tomorrow.

Awards organiser Neil Walker said: “The quality of independent beer has never been better in the UK, and nowhere was that more obvious than at the Indie Beer Awards South East.

“From lagers and pale ales to stouts and speciality beers, the judges had an incredibly tough job in choosing from a superb range of beers.

“Huge congratulations to all of the category winners, and in particular Neckstamper for beating tough competition in the coveted overall champions jugding.”
