The board of the British Guild of Beer Writers has paid tribute to Susanna Forbes, cider expert and cider producer, who has passed away.
Susanna was — and always will be — one of the most important and influential drinks writers in the UK.
“In her role as drinks editor at Imbibe, she supported many of our members throughout their careers, educating and inspiring thousands of drinkers and industry professionals,” said a spokeperson for the guild.
“Just a few years ago, she moved to Herefordshire to found Little Pomona with her husband, James, now one of the world’s most respected cider and perry makers.
“She was also instrumental in the decision to add supporting cider writing to the guild’s articles of association.
“It’s a huge loss for everyone who knew her and the industry as a whole. She was the brightest, kindest, and most passionate person in the room. All our thoughts are with her friends and family.”
