In the wake of its taproom success, Walthamstow-based Exale Brewing is opening a neighbourhood pub, The Three Colts Tavern, in Bethnal Green.

Three Colts

The pub, at 199 Cambridge Heath Road, will be opening under the watchful eye of Exale’s Andy Solley, who has operated and overseen East End institutions The Cat & Mutton and The Morgan Arms.

Located minutes from Bethnal Green tube and overground stations, the venue joins an esteemed group of independent businesses that the Exale team love, love such as Coupette, Sager & Wilde, The Kings arms, The Sun Tavern, Backyard Comedy Club, The Bethnal Green Tavern, and Mother Kellys.

The new site has plenty of natural lighting, exposed concrete, and mid-century carpentry, and comes with lots of outside seating. There will be 14 lines of keg and cask beer, plus cocktails and natural wines, paired with a friendly team, pizza, and shuffleboard.

The property is on the former site of the Three Colts pub, which was demolished in 1902. Exale love proper pubs and hope to bring back a small glimmer of what once was to this corner of Bethnal Green.

The kitchen will be operated by one of London’s most exciting, up-and-coming food operators (announcement soon) and there will also be weekly DJs, quiz nights, tap takeovers, and live music.
