Beer writer Laura Hadland is to host and alcohol-free beer tasting in Shrewsbury, organised by no-alcohol bottleshop Dry By Choice.

alcohol free tasting

Held at stop. coffee shop, within Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, on Sunday, 29th January, the event will introduce guests to four different styles of beer.

They will have the chance to learn the secrets of pairing beer with food as they experiment with matching their drinks with a carefully curated tapas platter.

The event will showcase some of the best breweries in the country making beers under 0.5% ABV, including Wiper and True and Mash Gang. The latter was recently named the best alcohol-free brewery in the UK at the AF Beer Club Awards.

“I hope that this event will appeal to hardened beer drinkers as well as, perhaps, people who have never tried beer before, because they don’t drink,” said Laura.

“I will be there to explain everything, and we’ve got an incredible menu of food to pair with the beers, thanks to the amazing chef at stop. coffee shop.

“I hope that guests wll be excited to try something new, and together with Dry By Choice I hope we can make alcohol-free tastings a regular feature on the Shrewsbury calendar.”

• The event will be held at 4.30pm on 29th January. Tickets, priced at £15, are available here and include an alcohol-free cocktail on arrival. The full line-up of beer and food will be released soon.
